Audrey Hepburn was the queen of introversion, a timeless beauty with a quiet nature and an absolute need for solitude.

I have to be alone very often. I’d be quite happy if I spent from Saturday night until Monday morning alone in my apartment. That’s how I refuel.

— Audrey Hepburn

Here are 3 steps to introverting like Audrey this weekend:

Step 1 — Invest in a good sofa, sit in it.

The sofa is your throne and your throne must be befitting of introvert royalty. Therefore invest in a sofa that will wrap you up in its warm embrace and act as a good, silent, friend during your all too short weekend curled up on her.

Step 2 — Invest in a good book, read it.

Audrey Hepburn was a bookworm, one of her favourite authors was Rudyard Kipling, author of The Jungle Book. We introverts love loosing ourselves the worlds created for us in literature.

Unfortunately we’re often drawn to self-help books in an attempt to fix ourselves in an extroverted world where we feel like we should be partying, attending concerts or {{horror upon horror}} shopping.

Be more like Audrey though, be proud of your introversion. Stop trying to fix yourself, there is nothing at all wrong with you. Instead provide nourishment for your soul with a good book.

Step 3 — Invest in solitude, look fabulous.

Cancel any plans you got talked into, turn off your phone, light some candels and enjoy the calming benefits of solitude. Let the memories of a hectic work-week and its {{shudder}} people fade as you spend time in your own authenticity looking fabulous.

Thats how Audrey did it.

Introvert bonus tip: Let someone know you’re still alive, you don’t want the fire brigade turning up kicking in your door because your mum thinks you’ve died surrounded by cats.
